Everything you actually want to know before getting in touch.
The questions we're most often asked about pricing, timelines, ownership, AI development, mobile apps and how we manage to ship so much faster than a traditional agency.
About RedFin AI
What does RedFin AI actually do?
RedFin AI is a UK-based software development studio. We design and build custom AI systems, web applications and mobile apps using an AI-first engineering pipeline that cuts delivery time by up to 80% and typical cost by 60% versus a traditional agency, without cutting quality.
Are you a UK company?
Yes. RedFin AI is based in the United Kingdom, works in UK business hours, and understands UK / EU data protection and compliance from a UK perspective. We work with clients across the UK and internationally.
How is RedFin AI different from a traditional software agency?
We use AI copilots, code generation, automated testing and design-to-code tooling in every phase of delivery, and we staff exclusively with senior engineers rather than juniors. Together this compresses typical agency timelines dramatically — roughly 80% faster on comparable scopes.
Do you work with startups or only enterprises?
Both. About half our work is with pre-seed to Series B startups building first products; the other half is with scale-ups and enterprises adding AI features or replacing legacy systems. Our AI-first process economics work at both ends.
Pricing & commercials
How much does custom software development cost?
Fixed-scope projects start from £15,000 for smaller MVPs. Typical AI-powered SaaS or mobile apps come in between £30,000 and £150,000 depending on scope. Enterprise builds and embedded engineering squads start from £18,000 per month. We give a fixed price after a short discovery sprint.
How do you charge — fixed price, retainer or day rate?
All three, depending on the engagement. Fixed-scope projects for well-defined work. Monthly retainers for ongoing engineering. Day-rate consulting for advisory work. Pricing is always transparent and agreed in writing before we start.
Do I own the code and IP?
Yes, completely. Every project ends with full transfer of source code, infrastructure, credentials and IP. No vendor lock-in, no proprietary components you can't move away from.
Do you sign NDAs before we share details?
Yes. We're happy to sign a mutual NDA before you share anything sensitive. Just let us know when you contact us.
Timelines & process
How quickly can you build a working MVP?
We routinely ship working MVPs — with real backends, real UX and real QA — in 4 weeks. Larger platforms typically take 8 to 16 weeks. Complex regulated builds take longer, and we'll say so up front rather than promise a timeline we can't hit.
What is your AI development process?
Five phases: discovery sprint (1 week), rapid prototype (5-10 days), build sprints (2-week increments with live demos), launch and harden (production deployment, security review, store submission), then optional monthly iterate-and-scale support. Every phase produces a real, testable artefact you can put in front of users. See the full process →
How do we get started?
Send a project brief via our contact page. We'll reply within one business day, book a 30-minute intro call, and — if we're a fit — usually come back with a written proposal, timeline and price within a week.
AI development
Can you help us with an existing AI project that isn't working?
Yes — this is one of our specialities. We often audit and rebuild AI systems that were shipped without proper evaluation, monitoring or cost controls. Typical engagements produce measurable quality improvements and 60-80% cost reduction within 3-4 weeks. Read about our cost-cutting approach →
What kinds of AI systems do you build?
LLM agents (autonomous and human-in-the-loop), RAG assistants over internal documents, computer vision applications, forecasting and prediction models, recommendation systems, and AI-native SaaS products. Full list →
Can you help with EU AI Act compliance?
Yes. We help teams classify their AI systems, prepare compliance documentation, put evaluation and monitoring in place, and produce the artefacts enterprise buyers ask for during procurement. Practical, not paranoid. Read our practical guide →
What AI models do you work with?
Model-agnostic by design: OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and open-source LLMs (Llama, Mistral, Qwen). We pick per task and per constraint — quality, cost, latency, privacy — and design so you can swap providers without a rewrite.
Mobile app development
Do you build native mobile apps or cross-platform?
Both. We build native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin) apps, and cross-platform apps in React Native and Flutter. We pick based on your project — performance needs, budget, timeline, and long-term maintenance — not based on what we prefer to sell. Our full 2026 view →
Do you handle App Store and Google Play submission?
Yes — end to end. Metadata, screenshots, privacy nutrition labels, App Store review responses, App Store Optimisation. If your app gets rejected, we handle the appeal. Store submission is included in every mobile app engagement, not billed separately at the end.
Technology & team
What tech stack do you use?
Modern, proven stacks: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Go, PostgreSQL, AWS/Azure/GCP, React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin. For AI: OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, open-source LLMs, PyTorch, LangChain. We pick stacks you can maintain or hire against, not exotic frameworks for their own sake.
Will you work with our in-house team?
Yes — regularly. We can embed alongside your engineers, mentor junior team members, review architecture, or lead specific workstreams while your team handles others. Flexible engagement models to fit how you already work.
Where are your engineers based?
United Kingdom. All senior engineers, UK time zone, UK business hours. Occasional specialists we bring in for niche work are on our vetted network — same standards apply.
